In his book, Biologic Ionization as Applied to Human Nutrition, Dr. A.F. Beddoe writes that every child or adult who is not allergic to lemon and has no active ulcers should drink lemon water. There are many benefits of doing so.

Edmund Hillary, the first man to set foot on the top of Mt. Everest, has admitted that his victory over Mt. Everest was greatly due to lemon. This is because lemon helps in cases of insufficient oxygen and difficulty in breathing.

Other benefits of drinking lemon water include:

  • It strengthens your liver enzymes when they are too dilute.
  • Your liver can make more enzymes out of fresh lemon juice than any other food.
  • When you take lemon water regularly, it stimulates your liver to fulfil its daily digestive and cleansing functions.
  • Lemon water regulates your blood oxygen levels.
  • Lemon is rich in vitamin C.
  • It boosts your immune system.
  • Lemon purifies your blood.
  • It improves your body’s ability to get rid of toxins.
  • It’s excellent in reducing your body’s acidity.
  • Lemon is also believed to help dissolve gallstones.

How much lemon to use
If you’re in good health and weigh less than 150 pounds, squeeze the juice of half a lemon (two tablespoons) into three quarters of a cup of warm water and drink this mixture twice a day. But if you weigh over 150 pounds, mix four tablespoons of lemon juice instead in the same amount of warm water and drink it twice a day. You can dilute the lemon juice according to your taste. Why warm water? It’s comforting to your body.
