The artist in me wanted a very special theme to reflect my rebranding as a “Professional Writer and Mental Health Advocate.” It had to be beautiful—something that I could feast my eyes upon every time I looked at it. Why is beauty so important? It feeds the soul. My web designer, Vasu, worked hard to come up with a number of options, but none of them really appealed to me.

One afternoon I was walking home along Queen Street East after I had visited Mom. I stopped short at Queen and Jones. A profusion of beautiful, orange lilies greeted me. I love flowers and, especially, brightly coloured flowers! Fortunately, I had my camera with me. So I captured the garden of lilies on film.

When I got home, I looked at the images. I realized I had found just what I was looking for! These images would be perfect as the theme for my site. Vasu worked his magic. And lo and behold, I now have what my brother, James, calls  a ‘visual’ coup.
